THE RAINBOW BRIDGE POEM

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Decoy is the most titled Boykin Spaniel in the AKC, UKC and the History of the breed.

Deke we miss you every day!

Decoy was not only the first Boykin Spaniel to earn an AKC Master Hunter. He was also is the first Boykin Spaniel to earn the AKC Junior, Senior and Master Hunter titles in order. This was undoubtedly one amazing team; together Paul and Decoy traveled from coast to coast starting in January 2006 in Oroville CA and ending their unforgettable adventure in July 2006 in       Gervais OR.

    Decoy was everything that a Boykin Spaniel should be - he conformed to the standard in the conformation ring and functioned to the duties in the field. Decoy met the Total Dog Philosophy.

    Decoy was our first Boykin Spaniel & was also Paul’s favorite hunting companion; Paul had trained him to flush and retrieve upland game and waterfowl well before his first birthday.

    His tremendous drive, intelligence and competitive nature made him the top dog in our kennel; not only was he an outstanding hunter but was also the UKC #1 Top Ten Boykin Spaniel for four years in a row. His accomplishments in the UKC show ring include 14 Best in Show, 11 Reserve Best in Show and 17 Total Dog awards. Decoy also made quite an impression at ‘Rarities’ with his conformation and showmanship by earning himself a Best in Show, American Champion, Canadian Champion, and International Champion in his first weekend.

Decoy had his NAHRA SR title and his UKC SHR title.
Decoy still is the most titled Boykin Spaniel in the history of this breed.
    Decoy is also the first Gundog to earn his United Weight Puller Champion and Excellent titles and the first Boykin Spaniel in the history of the breed to earn both his UKC Conformation titles and Hunt titles.
